Known for her unmatched dedication, empathy and fierce persistence, Anya Fuchs knows firsthand the critical nature and importance of fighting the good fight for her clients. Anya’s experience with life threatening illnesses taught her how to love life, and has carved her path and fueled her passion to represent clients with intense drive and focus. In fact, she takes considerable pride in being “the last girl standing.”
Anya spent the first 16 years of her legal career working with and for some of California’s most prominent plaintiff’s firms—Kazan McClain and Paul & Hanley to name a few—as well as performed several specialized trial writing and appellate projects for half a dozen of California’s most successful and aggressive law firms including Maune Raichle, Weitz & Luxenberg, Rose Klein & Marias, Gold Law Firm, among others. Today, in addition to leading her own cases, she takes on Pearce Lewis’s novel writing projects, assists in the management of personal injury and wrongful death cases, as well as holds a lead role in the firm’s high-profile complex tort and other mass tort litigations.
Her recognized work-product, along with her work ethic, has resulted in a well-earned reputation as a thorough and zealous writing attorney who leaves no stone unturned in pursuit of achieving a just result for her clients, as well as future plaintiffs to follow. Anya’s pre-trial and trial writing efforts have produced a considerably successful body of work, and her appellate practice has resulted in numerous published opinions which continue to serve interests of injured plaintiffs. To her credit, Anya may very well be considered a guru when it comes to conducting novel legal research and analysis of developing California law.
Anya graduated cum laude from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2001, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1997 from which she earned three Bachelor of Arts degrees. Enjoying the opportunity to educate others and share her knowledge, in 2017 Anya co-taught Legal Researching and Writing to first-year law students as an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law. She remains committed to the labor of her love of trial and appellate writing, regularly guest lecturing on topics such as Appellate Advocacy at her alma mater law school and writing published articles, including in Plaintiff, a magazine for Northern California plaintiffs’ attorneys (see, “Civil Coordination 101” published in the December 2022 edition).
I was born and raised in Berkeley, California and come from a long line of academics, educators, and writers. I currently live in Oakland with my young son and husband and have much of my extended family close by with whom I spend considerable time. If not with family, I can be found at the law library or writing. And as an active enthusiast for exercise and physical activity, I might also be found enjoying a daily bike ride across the Bay Bridge.
